Archeologists have recently found that the Celts left us a rich and exciting store of delicate jewelry designs. These are an amazing amalgam of the delicate designs of those Northern European cultures visited by the Celts, and the strengths of the Celts. Our Celtic Scrimshaw Pendant is modeled after a pin found in a dig at Roskilde, Denmark. It dates from about 1000 years ago. A perfectly proportioned square of Fossil Ivory with full bezel and back is held below a long and graceful bail embossed with Celtic crossed lines. The Ivory sits above a gemstone of your choice. Choose either Citrine, Garnet, Amethyst, Lapis, or Opal. Personalize with up to three initials on back for a small additional charge. A perfect Pendant for when you need to feel "strong, yet delicate." Just 1 1/4 inch long, including bail. Choose your design from either a nautical theme or flowers. Shown with Medium Light Fossil Walrus Ivory, Opal, and scrimshaw thistle.

Our wonderful Ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
