At last - A well-made, lighter-weight marlinspike folder by Rough Rider, made especially for daysailors! This knife is perfect for youngsters (or oldsters) who sail small boats - It weighs only 4.5 ounces.4 3/8 inches closed, with non-locking 2 3/4 inch sheepsfoot blade. The easy-open marlinspike resoundly clicks in the open position, but, for safety, does not lock open. Nickel silver bolsters, with brass pins and liner make his a good looking knife. Blade and marlinspike made from 440 stainless steel for low maintenance and fine edge retention. We will scrimshaw 1) a ship, and 2) your name, initials, or the date on the Fossil Ivory scales at no charge. As an additional option, we will scrimshaw an etching of a daysailor of your choice, or your own boat (sail or power) on one side - Just email or snailmail us a picture. The available colors of our high quality Fossilized Ivories are shown below. (Please allow for some color variation in these natural materials.) Our wonderful Ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed many of its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the ground. In time, the Fossil Ivories you wear or use will take on very personal hues from your contact. They will become a part of you.
