At times we all need a Guiding Star to help us find our way. Our Guiding Star Pin or Pendant is full of such significance for all of us. In the northern hemisphere, the constellation Big Dipper unerringly points to a small, constant star that always points the sailor towards north, allowing him to find his way. This Pendant is hand scrimshawed with a ship on the sea, and the Big Dipper in the night sky. The Dipper points towards a beautiful tiny ruby which represents the North Star. A little color in the sea completes this meaningful image. Seven Sterling Silver spheres at the top are balanced with seven at the bottom. Embossed designs on the sides complete the Victorian frame. The Fossil Ivory is held in a full bezel, with a full Sterling Silver back. When you wear either Guiding Star Pin or Pendant you will always know that you have a guide to peace and safety. The available colors of our high quality Fossilized Ivories are shown below. (Please allow for some color variation in these natural materials.) Our wonderful Ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
