We designed our Simple Aleutian Islands Talisman II after one of a number of pieces of jewelry found in a Shaman woman's grave in the Aleutian Islands. It dates from about 1700 years ago. It was probably a found piece whose natural colors were thought to be connected to the powerful spirits of the forces of earth.The Fossil Walrus Ivory we used for this piece is close in color to the original and is a very rare natural color. Like the volcanoes of the Aleutian Islands, the rust color seems to reflect the earth around the volcanoes. To it we added a beautiful blue/green opal. You will look forward to wearing this strong Talisman every chance you get! It is enhanced by a strip of leather as a neckpiece. This powerful pendant is 1 1/2 inches high, 1/2 inch wide.

Our wonderful Ivories have been reclaimed from the ground after sharing the earth for up to 30 millennia! Even after all this time, Fossil Ivory remains warm and sensuous organic ivory; it is not petrified. It has developed its beautiful colors by taking up minerals from the earth and these colors are impossible to match in any contemporary ivories by modern processes.
